The city itself is a character. Volume’s urban landscape is a collection of towers — massive, vertical, stratified. Each tower is made up of stacked platforms, each platform its own level of city, built under LED skies that mimic day and night on a schedule nobody voted for. Sky bridges connect adjacent towers at each level, so you can walk from platform to platform, tower to tower, without ever touching the ground.
It’s dense the way a real megacity is dense — crowded, layered, alive — but scaled up beyond anything that exists today. Every level has its own ecosystem of buildings, streets, and people. The higher you go, the better the light. The lower you go, the older the infrastructure, the dimmer the sky.
It’s a city built for economic units, not people. But people live there anyway — and that tension is where the story lives.
